Overview

What's This Job All About?

As part of the Operations Team, the Tax and Client Reporting Specialist will serve as: a contact for tax information requests, facilitation of client tax reporting, creation and generation of monthly/quarterly reports for Greenleaf Trust clients from our trust accounting software program as well as our performance measurement software program, oversight of the non-traditional asset processes and completion of various monthly and ad-hoc projects requested by Director of Operations and the Tax Oversight Committee.

What You'll Be Doing

 

Principal Accountabilities:

 

Tax Reporting

  • Facilitate the completion of Forms 1099 for mailing to clients and filing with the Internal Revenue Service and/or appropriate taxing authority.
  • Facilitate the processing of tax worksheets to clients and CPA’s to provide information necessary for tax return preparation.
  • Ensure appropriate logging and scanning of tax returns to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure transactions are posted in accordance with appropriate tax consequence.
  • Perform ongoing tax maintenance throughout the year through the completion of monthly, quarterly and requested internal data integrity checks to prepare for tax season.
  • Serve as a contact for tax information requests (internal and external).
  • Respond to, and complete any other ad-hoc tax requests from internal and external clients, as well as, the Tax Oversight Committee.

 

Client Reporting

  • Provide support for the generation and distribution of web-based or paper account statements from Trust Portal reporting financial activity to our clients (consistent with method chosen by client).
  • Facilitate client performance reporting process by interfacing with the Wealth Management team and external reporting vendor.
  • Interface with outsourced printing/mailing vendor to ensure timely issuance of client reporting.

 

Other Accountabilities

  • Work closely with the Client Centric Team to facilitate the accurate and timely reporting of non-traditional assets on the trust accounting system, ensuring appropriate documentation per regulatory requirements.
  • Complete monthly bank reconciliations for cash disbursing accounts.
  • Facilitate the annual escheatment process.
  • Respond to, and complete any other ad-hoc reporting and compliance requests from internal and external clients to ensure team coverage and excellent client service.
  • Participation in designated work groups and projects as assigned.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What You Need for this Position

MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Bachelor’s degree and minimum 3 years’ operations experience in a financial services environment or equivalent education and experience.

Tax experience required with trust and estate tax preferred

CPA Preferred
